About
Why did you choose a career in family medicine?
I was always interested in primary care and global health. I figured that family medicine would be the most beneficial in global health settings since I will be able to not only diagnose and treat numerous conditions, but also perform different procedures.
What are some of your fondest memories of medical school?
Coming home from a busy, intense day of learning from clinical rotations to my babies welcoming me.
What drew you to pursue the Family Medicine Residency program at NGMC?
I love Georgia. I grew up here and wish to stay here even after training. I enjoyed my interview with NGMC since I really connected with Dr. Newton’s passion and vision for the community and its health. Making a decision to choose NGMC wasn’t difficult at all after the interview.
What were your favorite clubs/activities in high school?
My favorite activity as a high schooler was playing my bass guitar in my church praise team.
What are your hobbies?
Photography. I also love buying new gadgets (I should probably stop…)
Do you have a special interest in the field of family medicine?
Yes! I am interested in managing chronic conditions like hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes.
