About
Why did you choose Family Medicine?
I chose family medicine because I truly believe it is the specialty where you can be the most well rounded as a physician. You’re able to see anywhere from infants to the elderly and treat a wide number of conditions. This is something that many other specialties cannot say that they do.
What did you like about the interview process at NGMC?
Unlike other programs I had interviewed at, where the interview would only be a couple hours, I could tell that the staff at NGMC were fully invested in finding residents that were the perfect fit for the program. This gave me further confidence that I would be going to a program that would be willing to invest its time in me so I could realize my full potential as a Family Medicine physician.
What do you like about Georgia?
Georgia is perfectly centered in the U.S and because of that I’m able to experience all four seasons without the extremes in weather that comes with living in other parts of the country. On top of that there is a lot of beautiful scenery to explore – from rivers, lakes and the mountains that can be seen on my way to work!
What did you like to do in high school?
In high school, I was a part of student government and tried to assist in ways that would allow for the student body to be heard. I also wrestled for a couple years which helped contribute to the work ethic and perseverance that I hold with me until this day.
What do you enjoy outside of medicine?
I like to play video games focused on adventure and puzzles as well as watching action and comedy movies/tv shows.
What are your goals?
Being that I was a middle school teacher prior to medical school, I’m thinking of doing a fellowship in adolescent/pediatric medicine.
