Gurleen Kaur, MD is the associate program director and core faculty member for the Internal Medicine Residency program at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Dr. Kaur is certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and American Board of Internal Medicine-Nephrology. In addition, she is also a certified hypertension specialist, certified by the American Society of Hypertension. Dr. Kaur is currently pursuing a fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona through the Andrew Weil School of Integrative Medicine.
After receiving her medical degree from Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College in India, Dr. Kaur completed her internal medicine residency at the MacNeal Hospital in Berwyn, Illinois, where she was chosen to serve as the chief medical resident. She went on to complete her fellowship in nephrology at Emory University where she was again nominated as chief fellow. During her fellowship at Emory, Dr. Kaur also completed a course on renal sonography to complete ultrasound studies on native and transplant kidneys under Charles O’Neill, MD.
Dr. Kaur is a member of the American College of Physicians and American Society of Nephrology. Her research interests include the effect of diet and lifestyle modification on clinical outcomes in patients with chronic metabolic conditions like diabetes, hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
