Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) would like to introduce Larry Dudas, MD, to the Graduate Medical Education (GME) program as an internal medicine faculty member. By using evidence-based teaching in a fun and engaging learning environment, his goal as an NGMC Internal Medicine Residency Program faculty member is to train residents to be the best internal medicine physicians they can be.
Dr. Dudas received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Mercer University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of South Carolina. He has been a part of the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group (NGPG) since 2011. He decided to practice medicine at NGMC because of the medical staff here.
“The interactions you have here with other providers are great,” said Dr. Dudas. “Everyone is concerned about taking care of patients first, but there is also a great team environment that you don’t get at other places.”
Dr. Dudas is excited to be a faculty member in the GME program and says one benefit of training in a new GME program is that residents will be surrounded by a very enthusiastic medical staff. Residents will also enjoy access to brand new spaces—including a GME suite with lecture areas and call rooms—that have been built in the past year.
“The faculty is ready to teach and help our residents grow throughout their three years here,” said Dr. Dudas. “We are all eager for the program to begin.”
In his spare time, Dr. Dudas spends time with his wife, Dr. Katie Dudas—an NGPG family medicine doctor—and their son and daughter. He also enjoys running, playing golf and watching sports.
Dr. Dudas and his family enjoy living in Gainesville because of its proximity to the lake and mountains, as well as the ability to drive to downtown Atlanta in about an hour.
“The city of Gainesville has grown tremendously, and there are a lot of really good restaurants and things do here,” said Dr. Dudas. “Overall, we have been really happy living here for the last seven years.”
We welcome Dr. Dudas to the program!
