About
Dr. Kordek was born in Philadelphia and earned a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology of Religion at Boston University whilst conducted neurobiology research on ants. She worked at a hospital in Ecuador after college and spent a year before medical school working and studying in France. During medical school, she was inducted into the Alpha Omega Phi Honors and Service Society before completing most of her clinical rotations in Miami.
Dr. Kordek is thrilled to be a formative part of the NGMC Family Medicine program. She has big ideas, a lot of drive, and a passion for teaching. A member of AAFP, she enjoys everything about Family Medicine; from delivering babies to emergency procedures to patient education. She has always been passionate about global health and continues to work as the medical coordinator for a nonprofit organization in Peru.
When she can’t explore new cultures, Dr. Kordek loves to cook, swim, read, and play with her puppy. She loves to drag her fiancé out to salsa dance, and he loves to drag her out to go fishing. They both love to travel, meet new people, eat good food, and laugh.
“I do not want to get to the end of my life and find that I just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.” – Diane Ackerman
