Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Leadership News
Senior Program Coordinator for the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Angela Lewis, M.Ed, MPH, C-TAGME, was recently elected to the Fellowship Administrators in Cardiovascular Education and Training (FACET) board as a Member-at-Large.
Angela will assist the executive committee in achieving FACET’s goals and affecting the policies and decisions made by the Board. Three positions per year are filled, and Angela will serve two years.
“I’m really excited to be part of the FACET board,” says Angela. “FACET is committed to excellence in cardiovascular graduate medical education, so being a part of this important work will only enhance what we have to offer our cardiovascular disease fellows at NGMC.”
“Angela is a phenomenal program coordinator and goes above and beyond to ensure that our cardiology fellowship runs as smoothly as possible,” said Dr. Ugochukwu Egolum, program director of the Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship. “I am very impressed, but not surprised, that she is taking on this leadership role at a national level to continue to influence and improve cardiovascular education here and nationwide.”
FACET is a voluntary, professional organization providing education and support resources to those who manage accredited cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure/transport, and advanced congenital heart fellowship programs. FACET supports and promotes the certification process of the Training Administrators in Graduate Medical Education.
